Marco Simonetti

For over three decades, Marco Simonetti has been at the forefront of design. As a “digital simulation of the analogue,” he describes in his works the reciprocal transformation of both the real and the digital world. Vivid, intelligent, experimental, and accessible, Marco began his career as a designer in the early 80s during the post-punk era, far away from computers. Back then, he was tinkering with cassette and vinyl covers of bootleg records using sheer commitment and simple tools.

Years later, after graduating and carving a path into the technology industry, he founded the Design Studio Walhalla alongside Ibrahim Zbat, a company that quickly developed into a leading design studio in the early 90s. Neither of the two founders ever went to art school; they simply started out creating flyers for electronic music and doing artwork for small record labels before finally winding up earning commissions from large corporations, such as Renault and Sony. Marco Simonetti currently works as Creative Director at the renowned branding agency Heads Corporate Branding (heads.ch).

Marco Simonetti is a multi-faceted, award-winning designer whose work is driven by holistic strategy, coherent design, and progressive technology.
